  Fine for throwing litter from car
A Heckmondwike resident has been found guilty of a littering offence under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

Mrs Faqra Bi Hussain, 25 Harewood Ave, Heckmondwike attended Batley and Dewsbury Magistrates Court on January 7 and pleaded guilty by admitting that her husband had thrown a cigarette out of her car whilst travelling on Kaye Street, Heckmondwike, in May last year.

She was fined £75 and ordered to pay £100 costs and a £15 victim surcharge. The maximum penalty that could be imposed for this type of littering offence is £2,500.
