Free business advice for women - May 6
Kirklees Council is organising a free business event on Wednesday May 6 for women running their own business and those looking to start.

The event is taking place at Bretton Street Enterprise Centre, Dewsbury from 9.30am to 12.45pm and will give women an opportunity to meet with local support agencies, to hear useful advice and guidance and to receive one-to-one support.

Support will be available for women wanting to start their own business as well as for women already in business but looking for additional help and advice.

There will also be an opportunity to see the facilities on offer at the Kirklees Council managed enterprise centre including the incubation offices and hot-desking suite. The event will finish with a buffet and an opportunity to network.

Cllr Christine Stanfield, Cabinet member for Regeneration, said: “In the current economic climate, businesses need to know more than ever about the free support and guidance that’s available to them. By running events like this we’re giving businesses the opportunity to not only find out about how Kirklees Council can support them, but also how the other agencies can too.”

The event has been organised by a partnership of Kirklees Council and Kirklees Women’s Alliance. If you would like to book a place to attend the event contact Bretton Street Enterprise Centre on 01924 325165 or email eds.brettonstreet@kirklees.gov.uk.

Kirklees Council manages a selection of quality purpose-built business and enterprise premises across the Kirklees district in Batley, Dewsbury, Heckmondwike and Huddersfield.

Facilities include: work-ready offices, flexible rents, free conference and meeting room facilities and on-site support from specialist business advisors all within 15 minutes of Leeds city centre.

The new incubation offices at Bretton Street and Batley Enterprise Centre are a result of a successful trial of incubation offices at Batley Business Park.
Batley Business Park, one of the council’s biggest business premises with 74 offices, offers five incubation suites which are available with graduated rents and include on-site support from specialist business advisors and a dedicated on-site management team who can offer secretarial and reception services.
