Keep warm when it's snowing with help from Kirklees Warm Zone
If you’ve noticed that the snow is melting off your roof a lot quicker than others, it may be an indication that your loft needs more insulation.

Around 25% of the heat from your home escapes through the roof and 35% through the walls. Having good insulation will help to keep your home warm and reduce your energy bills.

Kirklees Warm Zone is offering FREE Cavity Wall and Loft insulation to all suitable households in Kirklees regardless of income.

Even if your home is already fully insulated, the Kirklees Warm Zone offers a range of other services such as benefits and debt advice, a free carbon monoxide detector, free energy saving lightbulbs, fire safety checks and energy efficiency advice through its network of partner organisations.

Warm Zone is visiting every home on a ward by ward basis. Currently, Warm Zone is working in the Holme valley South ward and will soon enter the Greenhead ward.

Cllr Molly Walton, Lead Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “It may be useful to look at your roof and see if you notice the snow melting unusually fast, which could indicate poor insulation in your loft. Kirklees Warm Zone is a fantastic scheme, backed by Kirklees Council. If you think you need insulation in your home, look out for Warm Zone coming to you.”
